Why You Never Buy Leads!
As I was watching t.v. last night a commercial came across the screen describing how a unsuccessful fixing to be fired sales person could effortlessly and magically become a top salesman or woman at their company just by buying leads from this lead company.
During the commercial I couldn’t but help to think that at that very moment there were hundreds to thousands of people in the network marketing industry buying leads from various lead generating companies calling these leads hoping to be the next top money maker for their company.
Unfortunately for them they are hearing a bunch of NO’s and their beginning to feel like their wasting their money and time. Buying leads and cold calling leads are the “old school” methods of building a network marketing business.
There are only a handful of people who can call a complete stranger and get them to join their business. It’s not a duplicable skill which is very important to have in order to build a large life long residual income business.
Now let’s discuss why you never buy leads. How do you think leads are generated? When someone searches for a term let’s say “How to make money online.” He comes to a website that asks him to give them his personal contact information so a represantive can call him about a business opportunity.
Notice that he did not type in the search term “network marketing” or “MLM” for all you know he may want to fill out paid surverys at home not something that’s going to cost a lot of money.
The 1 reason why you don’t buy leads is becuase they are generic. Let’s say you just joined a network marketing business your sponsor tells you to go buy some leads from XYZ company and being a good trooper you do as your told.
You get your leads your pumped up and excited about sharing your opportunity with someone you pick up the phone only to get yelled at and told no. Why did this happen? Becuase by the time you called this lead he had been called seven different times about a MLM business.
Plus by the time you call he is trying to eat dinner with his family and by this point he is sick and tired of hearing about network marketing schemes so he reaches through the phone chockes you and tells you to go do something more respectable with your life.
